So often I have wondered why people wear such a big variation of glasses when they look at the world around them. Do we live at the same planet when history appears so differently from person to person? I doubt it! At least we do not use the same sources of information or read the same kinds of books.- But one thing I know we have in common: We all have the opportunity of reading the Bible! Why not take the job and study the Scriptures carefully - for wisdom and knowledge? By the way, I am going "to see for myself" next week.

Did you know that Adolph Hitler and his minister of propaganda, Goubbels, have taught all the terrorist groups in the Middle East how to handle and betray naive politicians and other people in the West? Think for example of what happened in Czechoslovakia and to the German population in Sudetenland. Exactly the same kind of tactics is used concerning the Palestinians in Israel today. Only Jesus Messiah can make peace for the suffering world. But I do not think that I want to discuss this topic any more. People should seek to the correct sources of information and "see for themselves." - I have already recommended to study the Bible. It is the most important piece of work one can do in this end-time.
Thank you, John, for your very courageous thoughts (and very healthy reaction) regarding the situation in Israel. Violence, wherever it comes from, is a scandal when it touches innocent people. I am really amazed that a Christian may justify the death of innocent people with the words: "In every war civilian lives are lost. Israel is at war." The sacredness of life urges us to say that there is something wrong in this kind of reasoning. And please let us not use the holiness of the Land in order to justify the death of children of God, human beings created in His image and likeness. The book of Leviticus reminds us that the gift of the land to Israel is not unconditional: "But you shall keep my statutes and ordinances (...) otherwise the land will vomit you out for defiling it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you."(18:26.28). Among the statutes and ordinances, if I remember well, there is something against the idols (and the Land may become one!), there are verses about justice and respect for the enemy (Ex 23:4-5; Prov 24:17;25:21). Moreover I do not think that the argument which consists of the justification of the policy of Israel, that the Lord was given by God, is a good argument. The present secular State of Israel has the right to live in peace and security, but it seems difficult to believe that it coincides with the Old Testament people of God. You must remember that the State of Israel was founded in 1948 as a secular and socialist State. At the moment, there are Christians (from Hebrew and Arabic roots), Muslims, and Jews who have the Israelis nationality; among those of Jewish background, there are those who are for, and those who are against the policy of the State... where is the people of God? But beyond all these words, Christ's life calls us to reject all forms of violence... violence achieves nothing but the increase of the problem. As Martin Luther King very appropriately said: "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend. We never get rid of an enemy by meeting hate with hate; we get rid of an enemy by getting rid of enmity. By its very nature, hate destroys and tears down; by its very nature, love creates and builds up. Love transforms with redemptive power."

Why do they still keep people in refugee camps? The war in 1948 was for a long time ago.
